“As a kid, I started drawing and I haven’t stopped since then. It’s just been a hobby that keeps me busy. The theme of my art is whatever comes to mind. It’s kind of a graffiti and street-art inspired cartoon style. I generally start with something — like an eye — and build around it. I usually have no idea when I originally start. It sort of builds from nothing. God, I’d love to pursue art full time. That would be a dream. I sell car insurance full time. It’s not really glamorous, but it pays the bills.

“I’m from Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve been here for just over ten years. I was married to a Canadian, so I came over. There’s a lot more violence in South Africa — a lot more civil unrest. I imagine there’s the same amount of corruption; it’s just that Vancouver does a better job at hiding it. The most memorable part of South Africa are the sunsets. They’re beautiful — every single one of them.”
