“I’m from Chilé in South America. Growing up in Chile wasn’t the best experience since I’m a member of the queer community. I was at a park with my boyfriend at the time. I was leaning, resting on his shoulder and somebody threw stones at us. That kind of stuff happens, it’s super common there. There are a lot of people who are being killed because they are queer, especially transgender people and drag queens, and lesbians are invisiblized.

“Chile is really far behind in inclusive laws and stuff like that. That also motivated me to move to another country. It’s really terrible down there. Here, it's not an issue. Everybody’s human, right?

“I got my visa extended yesterday – It’s a work permit. I work in animation. I’m an artist, I paint characters and backgrounds for animation shows. Here, a lot of things are happening in animation – shows are being developed, there’s a lot of opportunities. I’ve been working on other shows that have already aired, [like the] animated show Star Trek Lower Decks and the Line brand series. We’re developing a series for Netflix.”
